Ganymede, in Greek mythology, was a beautiful Trojan prince who was abducted by Zeus to serve as the cupbearer to the gods, symbolizing youth and divine favor. Dardanos itself traces its origins to its eponymous founder, Dardanos, a son of Zeus and Electra, and the ancestor of the Dardanians and the Trojans who descended from them, and thus through Aeneas also of the Romans.
